STAYING CONNECTED TO A.A.

We hope that you have benefited from the presentations and discussions during the meeting. If you are an alcoholic with a desire to stop drinking, we encourage you to give A.A. a try.

Most members, even those who have participated in A.A. online for a number of years, will recommend that you experience A.A. first-hand by attending face-to-face meetings. If there are no meetings where you live, or if you are unable to attend a local meeting for any reason -- whether due to mobility or other physical challenges, work or family schedules, or even "shyness" -- join us online. Or, try both!

From the Foreword to the Fourth Edition of the book "Alcoholics Anonymous":

"In any meeting, anywhere, A.A's share experience, strength, and hope with each other, in order to stay sober and help other alcoholics. Modem-to-modem or face-to-face, A.A.s speak the language of the heart in all its power and simplicity."

FINDING A.A. LOCALLY

To locate A.A. in or near your community, your telephone directory is a great resource. You also can locate contact information on the A.A. World Services web site. There you will find a list of all offices and answering services in the United States and Canada, as well as links to A.A. in many other countries. Visit the Contact A.A. page: http://www.aa.org/default/en_contact.cfm.

Most A.A. offices and groups will have printed meeting lists. Be sure to ask for one at your first meeting.

END OF THE MEETING

It's time now, if you choose, to begin your new life. We'll end the meeting with a passage from the book "Alcoholics Anonymous," p. 164:

"We realize we know only a little. God will constantly disclose more to you and to us. Ask Him in your morning meditation what you can do each day for the man who is still sick. The answers will come, if your own house is in order. But obviously you cannot transmit something you haven't got. See to it that your relationship with Him is right, and great events will come to pass for you and countless others. This is the Great Fact for us.

"Abandon yourself to God as you understand God. Admit your faults to Him and to your fellows. Clear away the wreckage of your past. Give freely of what you find and join us. We shall be with you in the Fellowship of the Spirit, and you will surely meet some of us as you trudge the Road of Happy Destiny.

"May God bless you and keep you -- until then."

Sincerely,
[meeting leader name]
